We know that many of you may have concerns about COVID-19, so we wanted to take a brief moment to share what we’re doing to keep our team and our customers safe and healthy, & keep you up to date with the supply chain.
We know that our service is more important than ever to many of our customers right now, so we’re taking precautions so that we can continue to provide a safe and reliable service.
We have already taken several measures behind the scenes, based on guidance from the Australian and Victorian government health departments.
All team members thoroughly washing and sanitising hands every time they enter our production facility.
All team members sanitising their hands before and after customer deliveries.
A crystal clear direction to all team members to stay at home if they feel sick.
All delivery crates, thoroughly washed & sanitized (as per usual)
All delivery vehicles washed & sanitised (as per usual)
Thorough & intense cleaning and sanitizing of production areas, benches and equipment.
Foam eskies & cardboard cartons are not to be returned to premises
These measures aren’t to cause any panic or inconvenience. Its just to let you all know we are keeping on top of the situation in the best means necessary.
THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR
Its obvious the hospitality sector will be the first & hardest hit if the situation worsens and the public decide to stay at home rather than hit the town.
We are forecasting a drop from anywhere between 30-40% in revenue (let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!!) up until September when things hopefully begin to clear up & consumer demand is back on track.
We are keeping an eye on all operational costs in order to remain profitable so we can continue to service you with the finest seafood available on the planet!!
Red Coral Seafood is very fortunate and in a great place to deal with a situation like this, with no debt, company owned vehicles/trucks & processing facilities.
Our client base is very diverse ranging from retail/supermarkets, the hotel/pub sector, restaurants and takeaways.
THERE WILL HOWEVER BE SOME CHANGES WE MIGHT HAVE TO MAKE ALONG THE WAY TO ENSURE THE DOORS STAY OPEN & WE CONTINUE TO BE PROFITABLE
REVENUE CHANGE If revenue drops sharply then we will have to make some fast cuts somewhere. This may be either – taking a truck off the road or scaling back the production workers. This may result in slightly later than usual deliveries due to the reduced staff load. We ask all our clients to try and remain as organised as possible to avoid you having to wait for stock that day. For those who know us well – customer service is our thing, so we will be going as hard as we possibly can!
FISH SUPPLY - If the unfortunate event occurs and there is an outbreak in a farm, factory or fish market where we purchase goods, or interstate transport is affected, there will have to be a quick replacement of stock to ensure you receive something to sell. (Example - Ora King replaced with Tasmanian Salmon or vice versa) Please be accepting of this and know we are doing the best we can to keep the flow of product coming through.
CLIENT VISITS – As of Monday there will be limited visits to customers by James & Tass. This will further limit the chance of the virus spreading from customer to customer. You can easily contact us at the warehouse or via mobile phone/text should you have any questions.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
We will keep you up to date with any further changes.
